Remote Drum Tracks & Mixing

You don't have to be in Maine to work with Blue Moon Studio. If you've got a song that needs real drums, I can record online drum tracks for you, played by a drummer with 30+ years behind the kit, not programmed loops.

Here's how it works: send me your song (a rough demo or your tracks so far) and tell me the feel you're after. I'll record drums, plus bass or guitar if the song calls for it, and send back stems / WAV files ready to drop into your project. If you'd like, I can handle the mix and master too.

I also offer online mixing and mastering for songs recorded anywhere. Send your tracks and I'll deliver warm, clear mixes and final masters ready for streaming, radio or CD, with the groove and emotion still intact.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost to record a song?

It depends on what the song needs. Most singer-songwriters and solo artists choose the Full Song Bundle ($450 – $650 per song), which covers the recording session, full rhythm tracking if needed, mixing and mastering. If you just need studio time, sessions are $45 – $65 per hour (2-hour minimum recommended). EPs and albums get a custom quote with discounted rates. Call or text and I'll give you an honest estimate. I want great recordings to stay affordable for working musicians.

Can you record drums for my song remotely?

Yes. As a remote session drummer, I can add real, live drums to songs from anywhere, along with bass or guitar if you need them. Send me your song, I'll track parts that fit your groove, and I'll send the files back to you ready to mix. Remote overdubs are $125 – $250 per song.

Can I bring my own drum kit or gear?

Absolutely. If you have a kit, guitar or amp that's part of your sound, you're welcome to bring it. If you'd rather not haul gear, tell me what you're planning when you book and we'll sort out the best setup for your session.

How long does mixing take?

Turnaround depends on the project: how many songs and tracks there are, and how much work each one needs. Ask when you book and I'll give you a realistic timeline. Each mix includes 2 revisions, so you'll have room to get it just right.
